Senior Engineer – Production Engineering (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Long Beach, California; candidates must reside within commutable distance.

Annual base salary: $119,400–$194,000.

What you will do

• Support daily production processes and operations across stamping, welding, and paint departments.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Management, Quality, and Production Control to achieve safety, quality, cost, and productivity KPIs.
• Provide technical and problem-solving support for manufacturing and maintenance issues.
• Plan and implement model changes, new processes, equipment procurement, installation, refurbishment, and repair activities.
• Manage engineering projects, including capital expenditures exceeding $100,000, and develop scopes of work for contractors.
• Support process changepoints and work weekends or shutdown periods when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline, or at least five years of equivalent professional experience in mechanical, electrical, or controls engineering within manufacturing.
• Production engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CAD and CATIA, including reading, interpreting, and modifying 2D and 3D drawings.
• Experience with PLCs, controls, robotics, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including editing and modifying PLC code.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, presentations, contractor scopes of work, and engineering project plans.
• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering degree.
• Experience in automotive stamping, welding, paint, or similar manufacturing departments.
• Experience with project proposals, budgets, hirify.global Business Practice, PFMEA, or Necessary Condition development.
