TL;DR
Engineer - Production Engineering (Automotive Manufacturing): Supporting new vehicle model preparation and production engineering across Toyota North America Manufacturing Center sites with an accent on project planning, vehicle process evaluation, and equipment automation. Focus on developing technical equipment requirements, leading projects from concept to launch, and improving safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Location: Georgetown, Kentucky. Must have the right to work in the United States and must not require employment visa or work authorization sponsorship. Travel up to 20% to North American Manufacturing Centers, Japan, and equipment makers; up to 30% overtime may be required.

What you will do

  • Plan projects with plant and Final Assembly teams for upcoming vehicle model changes.
  • Evaluate model-change impacts on vehicle processes and develop technical equipment change requirements.
  • Develop new technologies and vendor capabilities to improve production engineering competitiveness.
  • Lead equipment and automation projects from concept through launch across manufacturing centers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, maintenance, pilot, project leadership, and other internal and external groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, a technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in automotive assembly engineering, production engineering, or a similar field.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% and work up to 30% overtime, including some weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods.

Nice to have

  • Training and experience creating and interpreting equipment drawings from concept to production.
  • Vehicle model-change experience.
  • Experience managing projects through Operating Procedures.
