is a Munich-based fusion company developing commercial stellarator fusion power plants, including the Alpha and Stellaris machines, using advanced computation, machine learning, and high-temperature superconducting magnets.
What you will do
- Own procurement for advanced manufacturing, engineered components, fabrication, magnets, machined parts, castings, forgings, and welded assemblies.
- Develop sourcing strategies and identify manufacturing partners for build-to-print components.
- Lead RFIs, RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract awards, and contract execution.
- Work with Engineering and Quality on manufacturing capability, specifications, inspection and test plans, and supplier readiness.
- Lead supplier industrialization, including design-for-manufacture feedback, capacity planning, manufacturing-readiness reviews, and first-article qualification.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, performance, delivery risks, commercial escalations, and procurement process improvements using digital tools and AI.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in procurement, supplier management, or strategic sourcing.
- Experience sourcing engineered components or manufacturing services.
- Understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, castings, or forgings.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating manufacturing agreements for build-to-print components, including quality requirements, inspection and test plans, non-conformance management, delivery obligations, and change control.
- Ability to work with technical drawings, specifications, and engineering teams.
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience in fusion, nuclear, energy, aerospace, defense, automotive, advanced manufacturing, medtech, or another regulated technical industry.
- Experience with additive manufacturing, special processes, metrology, inspection, or first-article inspection.
- Experience with prototypes, low-volume/high-complexity manufacturing, or first-of-a-kind hardware.
- Familiarity with supplier quality, non-conformance management, manufacturing documentation, and inspection/test plans.
