What you will do

• Lead chemical and metallurgical forensics during critical incidents and govern root cause analysis activities.
• Establish and standardize water chemistry program requirements across sites, including sampling frequencies, inhibitor concentrations, and emergency dosing protocols.
• Oversee third-party water treatment vendors and enforce fleet reliability standards.
• Analyze water quality trends, review capital project designs, and issue Engineering Change Orders for protected multi-metal hydronic loops.
• Conduct fleet-wide audits of filtration, degassing, and biological control programs, escalating reliability risks before equipment performance is affected.
• Evaluate and validate new chemical formulations, biocides, conservation methods, and physical filtration technologies with the Advanced Cooling Lab.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in industrial water treatment, cooling tower chemistry, or related data center or mechanical systems environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent training and experience.
• Strong understanding of cooling systems, hydronic systems, and water treatment in mission-critical environments.
• Expert knowledge of scale, corrosion, microbiological control, and thermodynamic interactions in high-density liquid cooling loops.
• Experience managing third-party vendors and communicating chemical risks and metallurgical vulnerabilities to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
