Mechanical Systems Expert (Data Center Cooling)

Location: St. Francisville, Louisiana, United States; full-time on-site role

What you will do

• Review chilled water plants, air- and liquid-cooling systems, CDUs, CRAHs, heat rejection, and water treatment designs from an operations and maintainability perspective.
• Verify mechanical installations during construction, including pipe routing, supports, valve access, equipment clearances, insulation, and flushing protocols.
• Witness Level 3–5 commissioning, functional performance tests, staging and failover sequences, failure scenarios, and integrated systems testing.
• Drive operational issues into commissioning logs with clear acceptance criteria and verify their closure.
• Validate turnover packages, including O&Ms, as-builts, labeling, water-treatment baselines, spare parts, consumables, and preventive-maintenance inputs.
• Support post-turnover stabilization through alarm tuning, setpoint refinement, troubleshooting, and feedback to future mechanical design standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in critical-facilities mechanical operations, commissioning, or chief-engineer-track roles.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of chilled water plants, hydronic systems, and air-cooled, water-cooled, and liquid/direct-to-chip data center cooling.
• Fluency with Level 1–5 commissioning from the witness or operations side, including integrated systems testing.
• Strong ability to identify maintainability issues involving access, isolation, instrumentation, and failure-mode consequences.
• Experience with turnover documentation, water treatment, and cleanliness protocols for critical hydronic systems.
• Comfort working directly with construction teams while maintaining operational requirements; CFC/EPA certifications, trade licensure, or an engineering degree are welcome.
