Sr. Manager, Future Computing Prototyping Studio

hirify.global is establishing a Future Computing Prototyping Studio to develop and validate next-generation personal computing experiences on hirify.global hardware.

What you will do

• Establish and lead the Shanghai Future Computing Prototyping Studio, including its operating model, engineering culture, technical standards, laboratory environment, and portfolio process.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary organization covering Linux, Android, virtualization, hardware integration, AI, cloud, developer experience, UX, and technical programs.
• Define the technical architecture and roadmap for four-to-twelve-week prototypes, including Linux AI Developer PCs, AMD developer PCs, and Android PC hardware.
• Deliver working prototypes on hirify.global or approved near-target hardware and validate customer value, technical feasibility, usability, ecosystem readiness, and commercial potential.
• Coordinate hardware, firmware, BIOS, drivers, power, thermal, camera, audio, display, networking, and software integration with ODMs, silicon partners, suppliers, and Chinese ecosystem participants.
• Manage staffing, budgets, cloud and hardware investments, executive communication, and transitions from validated prototypes into product and engineering organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 15 or more years of relevant engineering, product-development, or advanced-technology experience.
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary software or systems-engineering organizations and developing senior technical talent.
• Experience taking concepts from prototype or incubation through validation and into product development or commercial delivery on real hardware.
• Strong technical breadth across at least two areas including Linux kernel and graphics, NVIDIA CUDA or AMD ROCm, Android/AOSP, virtualization, containers, PC hardware integration, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, telemetry, security, or AI model services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience building an engineering team, innovation studio, incubation organization, or advanced-prototyping function from the ground up.
• Experience working with China-based ODMs, hardware suppliers, universities, or software ecosystems.
• Working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or experience leading bilingual teams.
• Open-source participation in Linux, Android, virtualization, containers, graphics, or developer-tool communities.
• Experience validating early-stage technical products and transferring prototypes into production organizations.
