Continuous Improvement Engineer (Logistics)

Location: Northlake, Illinois, United States; onsite

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across transportation, distribution, and last-mile delivery operations.
• Analyze operational data to improve routing, capacity utilization, on-time delivery, cost per delivery, and network efficiency.
• Support new market, delivery station, transportation partner, and network expansion launches.
• Develop standard operating procedures, playbooks, training materials, dashboards, and operational KPIs.
• Lead root cause analysis, Kaizen events, and Lean projects focused on reducing logistics waste.
• Partner with Operations, Analytics, Technology, and field leadership to implement scalable transportation processes and coach teams on Lean problem solving.

Requirements

• Two to five years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, and/or delivery operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, chemical, or mechanical engineering, project management, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and coach field leaders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a self-starter approach to problem solving.
• Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel, Jira, Confluence, and project management software.

Nice to have

• Yellow Belt Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Experience supporting third-party logistics operations.
