What you will do
- Develop firmware for highly integrated embedded medical devices.
- Contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from exploration and prototyping to detailed design, testing, and mass production.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and firmware engineering teams on system architecture and integration.
- Ensure design quality, regulatory compliance, clear documentation, and robust testing.
- Support embedded software DevOps through build and test automation.
- Evaluate and apply AI tools to firmware development where appropriate.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional firmware or embedded software development experience.
- Strong C programming skills in a firmware or embedded systems context.
- Experience with low-level drivers and protocols including ADC, PWM, I2C, SPI, and UART.
- Proficiency in Python for firmware testing tools and task automation.
- Experience with Git, embedded build systems, J-Link, debugging, and team-based development workflows.
- Ability to read datasheets and schematics and work with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.
Nice to have
- Medical device or other highly regulated industry experience.
- AI-assisted firmware development, including copilot and agentic workflows.
- RTOS experience, especially Zephyr.
- Nordic nRF5x SoCs, Nordic Connect SDK, and Bluetooth LE.
- Bootloaders, firmware updates, memory maps, embedded CI pipelines, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
