Systems Engineer III-VI (Nuclear Systems)

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States; 4 days in the office. Work hours are 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday. Travel may be required up to 10%.

Salary: Level III $120,000–$145,000; Level IV $145,000–$170,000; Level V $170,000–$195,000; Level VI $185,000–$215,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead stakeholder and operational analysis, requirements identification, decomposition, and management.
• Develop logical system architectures, functional decompositions, system behavior models, and concepts of operations.
• Manage physical product definitions, system interfaces, configuration changes, and integration across engineering disciplines.
• Plan and execute design integration, testing, system verification, and validation.
• Use MBSE tools within PLM frameworks and maintain engineering documentation, reports, and design decisions.
• Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support value engineering, cost analysis, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Level III: typically 5 years of engineering experience; Level IV: 10 years; Level V: 15 years; Level VI: 20 years.
• Experience with systems engineering software tools and lifecycle processes based on ISO 15288.
• Experience with requirements management, system design, interface management, integration and testing, verification and validation, configuration management, and change control.
• Knowledge of MBSE tools and PLM systems, such as Teamcenter PLM, Cameo, Capella, Genesys, SysML, or DOORS.
• Experience with systems modeling and simulation and technical risk assessment and management.
