TL;DR
Senior System Engineer - Integration & Verification (Flight Autonomy and Avionics): Developing integration and verification plans, procedures, test cases, and reports for the Mission Autonomy Sub-System within Merlin's autonomous aircraft platform with an accent on requirements traceability, flight-control-system integration, and safety-critical testing. Focus on validating test facilities, troubleshooting integration issues, defining subsystem requirements and interfaces, and supporting certification-oriented verification activities.

What you will do

  • Develop test plans, procedures, cases, reports, and problem reports for Mission Autonomy Sub-System integration and verification.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and test procedures.
  • Assess and prepare test facilities for formal integration and verification activities.
  • Support integration and verification of flight autonomy and flight control subsystems on aircraft platforms.
  • Define subsystem features, functions, requirements, test methods, interfaces, and testing strategies.
  • Collaborate with safety, hardware, software, customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities on systems engineering artifacts and change impact analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • 6–9 years of experience conducting integration, verification, and systems engineering activities.
  • Experience integrating and testing flight control systems with ML or autonomy aspects.
  • Experience with requirements management tools and processes, including requirements validation and verification.
  • Ability to troubleshoot integration and verification issues, identify root causes, and develop requirements for test facilities, architectures, and interfaces.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing testing artifacts for FAA, EASA, or DOD certification programs.
  • Hands-on avionics integration and verification experience using ARP4754A and RTCA DO-178B/C.
  • Experience with automatic flight controls, flight management, display systems, software requirements, or software verification.
  • Knowledge of FAA, EASA, or DOD regulations and standards, and familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Simulink, Cameo, IADS, or Jama.
