Field Application Engineer - Central US (Embedded Systems)

Location: Remote employee in the United States; travel to Kansas City required up to 50% of the time. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

What you will do

• Support global customers, with a focus on the assigned Central US region, throughout the semiconductor design-in process from pre-sales through production.
• Advise customers on system-level low-power design and optimize energy consumption in battery-powered products.
• Review customer schematics, PCB layouts, hardware and software requirements, and embedded system designs.
• Assist with hirify.global MCU software development tools and debug customer hardware, firmware, and complete systems.
• Provide customer feedback to marketing and engineering to influence new ICs and reference designs.
• Train and enable sales teams while presenting emerging technologies and supporting customer development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering within the semiconductor industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required; candidates without a degree need at least 10+ years of directly related professional experience.
• Experience developing and supporting embedded 32-bit MCU hardware and software, including C programming and Cortex-M ARM-based microcontrollers.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals, digital and analog circuit knowledge, embedded firmware skills, and laboratory debugging experience.
• Experience visiting customers, presenting complex technical topics, and supporting customer design and production activities.
• Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future; applicants must already have US work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr RTOS, especially configuring and debugging BLE-enabled embedded MCU applications.
• Experience with low-power radios and wireless standards including BLE, Bluetooth Classic, and 802.15.4.
• Experience with wearable and hearable product designs.
• Experience with WLAN, ZigBee, DSPs, and other low-power peripherals.
