Vice President, Deputy CLO - IP & Privacy (Quantum Computing)

Location: On-site in Broomfield, Colorado, United States. Candidates must be U.S. Persons and must not be nationals of China or Russia unless also U.S. citizens.

What you will do

• Establish, lead, and scale the global privacy, data protection, data governance, and intellectual property legal function.
• Build and manage a high-performing team of attorneys and legal professionals, including strategy, policies, processes, training, reporting, and operating rhythms.
• Advise on global privacy regimes, including GDPR, UK GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws, CCPA/CPRA, Singapore PDPA, and Japan APPI.
• Partner with Security, IT, Engineering, Product, Compliance, Commercial, Procurement, People, Finance, and executive leadership on privacy, IP, cybersecurity, AI governance, and data matters.
• Provide product counseling and IP support across hardware, software, open source, patents, trademarks, copyrights, licensing, commercialization, and research.
• Lead privacy assessments, data mapping, vendor reviews, incident readiness, breach response, regulatory inquiries, agreements, training, and outside-counsel management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor, LLB, or equivalent law degree, with admission to practice and good standing in at least one relevant jurisdiction where applicable.
• At least 15 years of legal, intellectual property, privacy, data protection, or related regulatory experience, including significant in-house technology experience.
• Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or a worker granted asylum or refugee status.
• Must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen.
• Significant experience advising multinational technology organizations, public companies, technical teams, and senior executives across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience leading and scaling legal teams and building privacy, data protection, IP, data governance, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience building or materially scaling a privacy, data protection, or data governance function in a newly public or public company.
• Familiarity with Singapore PDPA, Japan APPI, AI regulatory frameworks, and emerging technology governance.
• Experience with quantum computing, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, hardware, software, scientific research, open source, or complex technology commercialization.
