What you will do
- Draft, review, and negotiate customer, vendor, partnership, and other commercial agreements.
- Advise Product and Operations on marketplace policies, new products, recruiter and customer relationships, and regulatory questions.
- Support employment matters including performance management, terminations, compensation, policies, and employee relations.
- Support financings, equity matters, corporate governance, board matters, and strategic transactions.
- Develop privacy, data protection, security, and broader compliance programs.
- Build legal processes, templates, playbooks, contracting workflows, and systems that help the business scale.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school and active membership in the California state bar.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience advising technology or high-growth companies.
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Ability to work as a legal generalist across corporate, commercial, employment, product, privacy, and emerging matters.
- Strong business judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and build processes from 0 to 1.
Nice to have
- Combination of law firm and in-house experience at a startup or high-growth technology company.
- Experience with marketplace, platform, or recruiting and staffing businesses.
- Experience advising on privacy, data protection, AI, and product matters.
- Experience with financings, equity, corporate governance, board matters, or M&A.
