Head of Privacy (AI)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with in-person collaboration three days per week and residence within commuting distance of a hirify.global hub required. Relocation support may be available for moving to a hub.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the global privacy program, including its risk-based strategy, roadmap, policies, controls, and customer trust program.
• Contribute to AI governance and manage privacy, AI, cybersecurity, and data governance risks.
• Maintain records of processing activities, data flows, classifications, lawful bases, transfer mechanisms, and subprocessor transparency.
• Oversee privacy operations such as retention and deletion, cookies, consent, marketing compliance, privacy notices, individual rights, and complaints.
• Lead privacy risk assessments, including PIAs/DPIAs, legitimate interest assessments, AI inventories, and AI risk and impact assessments.
• Manage a team of two and collaborate with Security, HR, Procurement, Product, Engineering, Data, Revenue, and Customer Care.

Requirements

• Approximately seven years of experience developing a privacy specialism and a track record of delivering operational outcomes.
• AI fluency, including curiosity about large language models, practical use of tools such as Claude, and understanding of AI regulation.
• Knowledge of global privacy, cybersecurity, and AI regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act, NIS2, DORA, and EU Data Act.
• Experience working with fast-paced engineering and product development teams and integrating privacy by design into products and operations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Practical understanding of privacy frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 23894, ISO 42001, NIST frameworks, SOC 2, and Privacy by Design principles.
