Software Engineers (AI)

Location: New York City, with in-person collaboration at the office 3+ days per week and flexibility to work remotely

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year, plus equity

hirify.global is a startup building AI-powered software that replaces legacy systems for municipalities and counties, streamlining permitting, licensing, and other public services.

What you will do

• Build, test, and ship full-stack features across resident-facing interfaces and backend government workflow services.
• Develop a configuration layer that supports different municipal rules without hardcoding one-off customer logic.
• Own product areas end-to-end, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and performance in production.
• Use customer feedback and production data to prioritize improvements while working with municipal staff and residents.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and code reviews that shape engineering practices.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of full-stack development experience building enterprise or consumer applications.
• Experience owning a significant product area end-to-end and remaining accountable for shipped results.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to understand customer problems beyond ticket descriptions.
• Interest in working with current AI models in both the product and development workflow.
• Ability to work across varied technical domains, including GIS edge cases and fee-schedule logic.
• React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, RedwoodJS, AWS, and OpenAI API.
