Mechanical Engineer (AI Hardware)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week

Salary: $170,000–$212,000 base salary per year, plus performance bonus and equity

What you will do

• Translate product and industrial design concepts into mechanical architectures and functional prototypes for AI wearable devices.
• Design, build, and iterate prototypes to validate form factor, ergonomics, structural feasibility, and component integration.
• Collaborate with electrical hardware and firmware engineers on integrated prototype development.
• Support rapid concept iteration and technical feasibility evaluation with product, industrial design, and engineering teams.
• Prepare validated prototype designs and documentation for engineering handoff and mass production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in consumer electronics, wearables, or smart hardware.
• Experience with mechanical architecture, materials selection, tolerance analysis, and product assembly for compact electronic devices.
• Proficiency with mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
• Hands-on experience with 3D prototyping and rapid prototyping processes, including CNC and 3D printing.
• Fluent English and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional and international teams.
