What you will do

• Architect and implement an automotive-grade, on-device Uptane client framework for software-defined vehicles.
• Design separate verification paths for security-gateway Primary ECUs and resource-constrained Secondary ECUs.
• Implement multi-repository cryptographic validation across Director and Image repositories.
• Develop firmware state machines for validating Uptane metadata signatures and thresholds across Root, Timestamp, Snapshot, and Targets roles.
• Orchestrate vehicle-level software bundles, dependency tracking, compatibility matrices, and atomic flashing execution.
• Co-design secure edge-to-cloud interfaces, time-attestation protocols, vehicle manifests, and Uptane transport profiles with the Cloud/Infrastructure team.

Requirements

• Experience with embedded firmware development for automotive or safety-critical systems.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic verification, secure update pipelines, and compromise-resilient software delivery.
• Experience coordinating software updates across distributed control units and multiple internal networks.
• Ability to build secure interfaces between embedded vehicle subsystems and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with C for bare-metal systems, custom bootloaders, and RTOS kernels.
• Python experience for host-side tooling and secure payload wrapping.

Nice to have

• Experience with asymmetric A/B slot switching, dual-bank execution, and runtime validation fallback loops.
• Experience optimizing eMMC, UFS, or QSPI storage usage and bus bandwidth.
• Knowledge of on-device patching and delta-compression algorithms.
