Senior Manager, Cloud Operations Engineering (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States; must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident

Base salary: $175,000–$350,000 USD per year, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Build and lead a team of approximately 11 engineers providing Tier 2 operational support for hirify.global Cloud platform engineering services.
• Define production onboarding standards, including runbooks, operational scripts, support documentation, and deployment checklists.
• Establish operational readiness processes and improve supportability across existing platform services.
• Act as the escalation path for complex incidents and infrastructure recovery beyond Tier 1 and Solutions Engineering.
• Partner with infrastructure and development teams across the US, Europe, Australia, and Chennai.
• Manage deployments and operational access for restricted environments such as FedRAMP and GovCloud.

Requirements

• Experience building a DevOps or Tier 2/Tier 3 operational support team from scratch.
• 7+ years in DevOps, SRE, or production operations, including 3+ years in senior-manager-level people leadership.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a proven delivery record.
• Experience defining operational onboarding standards for multi-team engineering organizations.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• US citizenship or US permanent residency is required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting distributed systems at scale, including incident response and recovery coordination.
• Experience working across globally distributed teams and time zones.
• Experience with FedRAMP, GovCloud, or other restricted deployment environments.
