Senior Engineering Manager (API Platform)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Jose, CA (Hybrid: 3 days/week). U.S. citizenship required.

Salary: $182,000 - $260,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead the vision and roadmap for the API Platform and developer tooling to ensure technical scalability.
• Oversee the standardization, design, and governance of APIs to improve developer productivity.
• Manage and coach a team of Senior Staff Engineers and technical contributors.
• Ensure the delivery of reliable microservices, SDKs, and developer tooling.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Security to build scalable, secure solutions.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to customer requirements.
• 8+ years of experience as an engineering leader, including 3+ years managing technical teams.
• 10+ years of overall software engineering experience with proficiency in API/SDK design.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems (caching, queues, pub/sub) and cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Advanced knowledge of API-first design principles (OpenAPI, REST, JSON, Auth).
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in San Jose, CA.

• Experience driving engineering practices for workflow automation and developer productivity.
• Advocacy for modern practices like DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
