TL;DR
Electrical GSE Engineer (All Levels) (Aerospace Ground Systems): Designing, building, integrating, and deploying electrical ground support equipment for engine testing, vehicle integration, and launch operations with an accent on high-reliability hardware, signal integrity, power distribution, and safe interfaces with flight systems. Focus on developing schematics and documentation, troubleshooting and validating EGSE hardware, and supporting demanding test and launch environments.

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Salary: $100,000–$170,000 per year, with potential stock options, medical, vision, dental, and 401(k) benefits.

What you will do

  • Own EGSE hardware across architecture, schematic development, fabrication, integration, validation, and deployment.
  • Design and support electrical ground systems for engine testing, vehicle integration, and launch operations.
  • Collaborate with avionics, propulsion, software, test, structures, and operations teams.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, calibration, and functional verification.
  • Create interface control documents, schematics, wiring documentation, and engineering release drawings.
  • Improve GSE design standards, integration processes, and documentation; mentor junior engineers at senior level.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying EGSE, avionics integration hardware, or other high-reliability electrical systems.
  • Understanding of electrical system design fundamentals, including signal integrity, grounding, shielding, and power distribution.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation sourcing, hardware integration, electrical testing, and system troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet, RS-422, CAN, TCP/IP, CAT5, and serial protocols.
  • Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements as a U.S. Person or be eligible to obtain an export license.

Nice to have

  • Experience with rack-level systems, harnessing, enclosure integration, avionics, or RF products.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX.
  • Experience with test automation, scripting, controls software, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of aerospace ground systems standards and experience with launch campaigns, propulsion testing, or integrated vehicle operations.
