Focus on co-simulating signal integrity and packaging effects, integrating ASIC and silicon photonic components, and characterizing bandwidth, jitter, noise, and system-level performance.

What you will do

  • Specify, design, and simulate GHz-band analog and mixed-signal circuits, including TIAs, ADC/DAC front-ends, amplifiers, and PLLs.
  • Optimize electrical-optical impedance matching, biasing, and signal conditioning for silicon photonic modulators, photodetectors, and waveguide interfaces.
  • Develop and validate 2.5D/3D integration architectures using interposers and chiplets, including RF parasitic, TSV, and thermal co-simulation.
  • Collaborate with ASIC designers on SerDes, CDR, and mixed-signal interface integration.
  • Lead laboratory bring-up and characterization using oscilloscopes, VNAs, BERTs, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Propose analog architectures and co-integration strategies that contribute to the photonic processor roadmap and IP portfolio.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Microsystems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing analog or mixed-signal circuits in the 1–20 GHz range.
  • Strong command of SPICE/Spectre, ADS, HFSS, and S-parameter/EM co-simulation.
  • Experience with high-speed PCB design, signal and power integrity analysis, and advanced packaging such as CoWoS or EMIB.
  • Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for measurement automation and data analysis, plus experience defining reproducible test SOPs.
  • Fluent English is required; German or another European language is a plus.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience integrating electronics with silicon photonic or optoelectronic components, including modulators, photodiodes, or optical packaging.
