TL;DR
Analog/Mixed Signal Architect (Photonics): Designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuit architectures for optical transceivers and extreme-scale AI computing systems with an accent on drivers, TIAs, equalizers, ADCs/DACs, PLLs, and CDRs. Focus on modeling performance, power, and area, collaborating across analog and photonics teams, and authoring architectural specifications for high-bandwidth optical interconnects.

Location: Boston, MA or Mountain View, CA. Flexible hybrid workplace model.

Salary: $149,000–$216,500 USD base salary range, plus equity and other rewards.

What you will do

  • Propose high-speed 50G+ analog and mixed-signal circuit architectures for optical transceivers, including drivers, TIAs, equalizers, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and CDRs.
  • Develop performance, power, and area estimates for analog devices within the Passage platform.
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, photonics, and software engineering teams.
  • Provide high-bandwidth photonic interconnect solutions with the photonics engineering team.
  • Author, review, and validate detailed architectural specifications.
  • Represent hirify.global at technical conferences and contribute to its technical leadership.

Requirements

  • PhD in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or a related analog-design discipline.
  • Experience designing and testing optical front-end receivers and transmitters in advanced CMOS, including TIAs, drivers, CTLE, DFE, ADCs, DACs, and oscillators.
  • Advanced experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Cadence Spectre, Verilog-A, and IBIS-AMI simulators.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of equalization, digital signal processing, coding, and signal integrity in optical communications.
  • Experience with silicon photonic devices, including Mach-Zehnder and microring modulators and thermally tuned components.
  • Data-driven, analytical, process-oriented, innovative, and flexible working style.
