TL;DR
Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer (Optical Compute Interconnect): Designing, simulating, and validating analog and mixed-signal building blocks for next-generation optical compute interconnect products with an accent on power management, biasing, monitoring, and high-speed optical transceivers. Focus on transistor-level verification across process and temperature variations, optimizing power, noise, area, and robustness, and supporting silicon bring-up and validation.

Location: On-site in Aachen, Germany

Company

hirify.global develops graphene-based photonic solutions that connect chips into high-throughput, low-delay and energy-efficient computing networks.

What you will do

  • Design analog and mixed-signal IP, including LDOs, bandgap references, bias generators, voltage and current references, temperature sensors, POR circuits, oscillators and monitoring circuits.
  • Develop mixed-signal control blocks such as DACs, ADCs, calibration circuits, state machines and digital control interfaces.
  • Perform transistor-level DC, AC, transient, noise, stability, PVT, Monte Carlo and post-layout simulations.
  • Optimize circuits for power, area, accuracy, noise, PSRR, transient response and robustness across process and temperature variations.
  • Support silicon bring-up, characterization, debugging and correlation of measured results with simulation data.
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, photonics, packaging, layout and test teams from concept through silicon validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with 4–5 years of industry experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design, or equivalent demonstrated impact.
  • Strong knowledge of CMOS analog design fundamentals, feedback, stability, noise, matching, power management, device characteristics, layout effects, parasitics and post-layout verification.
  • Proven experience designing analog and mixed-signal blocks such as LDOs, bandgap references, bias circuits, calibration and monitoring circuits, temperature sensors, DACs or ADCs.
  • Experience with transistor-level simulation and verification flows, including pre- and post-layout verification.
  • Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, ADE, Spectre or equivalent SPICE simulators, Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS, Calibre DRC/LVS, parasitic extraction flows, MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up, characterization, debugging and collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-speed optical transceivers, integrated photonic systems, mixed-signal SoCs, or calibration, monitoring and power-management circuits for complex SoCs.
  • Experience taking analog IP through tapeout, silicon validation and production readiness.

Culture & Benefits

  • Human-centric processes focused on flexibility and work-life harmony.
  • Autonomy and continuous learning opportunities supporting professional and personal development.
  • Comprehensive benefits including insurance, pension and virtual stock options.
  • Open, inclusive and collaborative working environment.
