TL;DR
Manager, Pilot Hall - Battery (Automotive Manufacturing): Leading pre-series vehicle and battery builds with an accent on battery integration, vehicle assembly, quality control, and cross-functional execution. Focus on validating buildability, solving early-stage design and manufacturing issues, and establishing repeatable processes for mass production.

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4-5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional travel are required.

Salary: $140,000-$170,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Manage Pilot Hall engineers and allocate resources across vehicle and battery pre-series builds.
  • Direct vehicle assembly and battery integration engineering, including technical training and staff support.
  • Oversee pre-series build processes, timelines, specifications, buildability, and manufacturing validation.
  • Develop quality controls and continuous-improvement initiatives for vehicle fit and finish and battery system performance.
  • Analyze build data, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to improve repeatability and reliability.
  • Coordinate design, engineering, supply chain, battery technology teams, and suppliers while reporting milestones, risks, and mitigations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, including pre-series builds and battery systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional projects involving vehicle assembly and battery integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle assembly processes, quality standards, and battery system integration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work onsite in Blythewood, South Carolina 4-5 days per week and travel occasionally.
