Systems Engineering Manager (Electric Mobility)

Location: Palo Alto, United States; on-site

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Lead architecture and requirements development for cross-functional micromobility vehicle platforms from concept through validation.
• Translate customer and product intent into user stories, CONOPS, use cases, system requirements, and other system artifacts.
• Manage requirements across systems, subsystems, and hardware modules, including electronics, battery systems, drivetrain, connectivity, HMI, and sensors.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability between features, requirements, and verification and validation test cases.
• Develop architectures for distributed embedded controllers, including interfaces, communication protocols, functional decomposition, fault handling, and robustness.
• Support feature validation through bench and HIL testing, vehicle bring-up, system integration, and performance validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or embedded software development.
• Experience with embedded systems and understanding of real-time operating systems.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive communication protocols, including CAN, CAN FD, and SPI.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama or Polarion.
• Experience using model-based systems engineering.
