TL;DR
Corrective Action Specialist (Nuclear): Administering and improving a closed-loop corrective action program for non-compliance issues in a nuclear environment with an accent on condition report screening, corrective action tracking, and trend analysis. Focus on verifying corrective and preventive action effectiveness, resolving nonconformances, and driving continuous improvement through cause evaluation and review boards.

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United States; onsite five days a week. Standard schedule is 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday. Travel up to 10% as needed.

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 per year (Level IV, base salary).

What you will do

  • Administer the Corrective Action Program software and database.
  • Review and screen Condition Reports, validate trend codes, clarify issue descriptions, and support action generation.
  • Prepare information for the Corrective Action Review Board and participate in CARB meetings.
  • Monitor corrective action metrics, aging reports, closure progress, and program effectiveness.
  • Verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions and formally close completed actions.
  • Coordinate with interdepartmental groups, customers, and suppliers to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited university or institution.
  • Typically 10 years of experience in quality assurance, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, or operations in a nuclear environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ASME NQA-1.
  • Knowledge of corrective action application, nonconformance reporting, and closure processes.
  • Knowledge of cause evaluation quality training, such as TapRoot or Kepner-Tregoe.
  • Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and trends and reporting results to management.
