Configuration Management Specialist (Nuclear Energy)

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day configuration-management activities, priorities, assignments, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain configuration items, baselines, status-accounting records, engineering changes, approvals, and lifecycle documentation.
• Facilitate configuration-management audits, design reviews, Change Control Board meetings, data-quality reviews, and discrepancy resolution.
• Define requirements, use cases, workflows, reports, and controls for configuration-management systems with Digital Engineering and product-development teams.
• Review and approve relevant CMS and IT infrastructure changes, support user acceptance testing, and improve digital workflows.
• Provide technical oversight to contractors and promote configuration-management practices across design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, information management, business systems, computer science, or a related discipline, plus 5–7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent directly applicable experience.
• Experience with configuration management, engineering change control, document control, product lifecycle management, data management, records management, or a related controlled process.
• Working knowledge of configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, verification, and audits.
• Ability to assess technical and administrative information for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
• Proficiency with enterprise software, engineering information systems, databases, spreadsheets, or workflow applications.
• Strong organization, communication, prioritization, independent work, and continuous-improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Configuration-management experience in nuclear power, Department of Energy facilities, aerospace, defense, utilities, medical devices, or another highly regulated industry.
• Familiarity with ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, ANSI/EIA-649, ISO 10007, or equivalent standards.
• Experience with nuclear design control, configuration-control boards, engineering change boards, release management, audits, reconciliations, or self-assessments.
• Experience administering configuration-management, product-lifecycle-management, requirements-management, enterprise-asset-management, or document-management systems.
• Configuration-management certification or relevant professional training.
