Focus on resolving supplier nonconformances, reviewing technical documentation, evaluating manufacturing processes, and mitigating supply-chain risks across manufacturing, construction, and operations.

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Manage supplier quality architecture across the external supply chain for nuclear-grade hardware.
  • Execute supplier qualification protocols, capability evaluations, quality audits, and onsite source inspections.
  • Approve and implement Commercial Grade Dedication plans for commercial procurement.
  • Administer supplier corrective action requests and drive nonconformances through resolution and verification.
  • Review material certifications, test reports, first article inspections, and vendor process records.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and Quality Assurance on quality requirements, receiving inspection, material disposition, performance metrics, and supply-chain risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree and 2 years of nuclear or comparable industry experience, or Bachelor of Arts degree and 5 years of such experience.
  • US Navy Nuclear Propulsion School graduates may qualify with 1 year of nuclear or comparable experience.
  • In lieu of a college degree, 5 years of direct nuclear or comparable experience will be considered.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is required.
  • Ability to evaluate technical documentation, interpret engineering drawings, and assess supplier process controls.
  • Experience or familiarity with regulated supply chains, quality management systems, corrective actions, and supplier development.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, healthcare, oil and gas, or heavy industrial supply chains.
  • Familiarity with ASME Sections II and III, ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or similar standards.
  • Knowledge of welding, heat treatment, nondestructive examination, and surface finishing.
  • Understanding of statistical methods, Cp/Cpk metrics, and dimensional inspection tools.
