Build Quality Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global HQ in Torrance, California, in the Los Angeles area. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $140,000–$185,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes for production nonconformances, calibrated hardware, and commercial material certification in nuclear applications.
• Drive quality assurance across the supply chain through supplier qualification and performance monitoring.
• Lead or support root-cause investigations into manufacturing, production, and testing issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to identify and mitigate quality risks.
• Maintain compliance with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements through quality management systems and continuous improvement.
• Document quality procedures, processes, and findings for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another STEM discipline.
• 5+ years of manufacturing-environment experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Test Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or Quality Engineer.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and first-principles thinking skills.
• Knowledge of quality management principles, practices, and industry-specific standards.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed to support critical milestones.

Nice to have

• Experience in the nuclear industry or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience developing quality processes and managing production nonconformances.
• Familiarity with supplier qualification and supply chain quality management.
• Knowledge of calibrated hardware management and certification processes.
