Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Location: Remote - United States; remote-friendly with flexibility, or based at HQ in Ventura, California.

Salary: $185,000–$215,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Own engineering problems end to end, from stakeholder discovery and scoping through production delivery, measurement, and iteration.
• Ship multiple product surfaces in weekly delivery loops and evaluate the results of each release.
• Build backend services with TypeScript, Node, Postgres, NATS, and Redis, as well as customer-facing and internal interfaces with React and React Native.
• Use AI tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, Claude, and Bedrock for planning, implementation, design, and code review while critically reviewing all generated output.
• Make architecture decisions focused on scale, reliability, latency, and cost, partnering with Platform and Infrastructure.
• Collaborate directly with product managers, operations teams, drivers, and customers to define scope and communicate progress.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building production software with a product engineering mindset.
• Full-stack experience across TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, Redis, NATS, and React.
• Daily experience with AI-assisted development using Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent agents.
• Ability to design for scalability, reliability, latency, and cost beyond immediate feature delivery.
• Direct, proactive communication with cross-functional stakeholders and the ability to define work from limited specifications.
• Must be based in the United States for the remote role.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Claude Code or a similar coding agent within the last six months.
• Experience in a small-team or startup environment.
• Ownership of measurable metrics such as latency, reliability, conversion, or cycle time.
• Experience mentoring less-senior engineers in product engineering or AI-assisted delivery.
