Engineer II, Product Development Engineering (Semiconductor Hardware)

Location: Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; onsite campus-style work environment

Salary: $79,500–$100,000 per year, plus annual bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Coordinate technology development and new product introduction projects for gas filter, diffuser, and point-of-use purifier components.
• Conceive, design, and develop prototypes with emphasis on high-purity processes and semiconductor applications.
• Characterize and test new products against specified requirements.
• Design, build, and qualify laboratory equipment, fixtures, tooling, and process or test equipment.
• Create and maintain drawings, standard operating procedures, test procedures, and test data.
• Support root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and collaboration with R&D, operations, international resources, and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering; 1–3 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to design, fabricate, and qualify tooling and equipment used in manufacturing and product testing.
• Knowledge of engineering design practices, solid modeling, and manufacturing drawings; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Experience driving engineering deliverables through structured stage-gate processes, including requirements definition, concept evaluation, design freeze, prototype build, DFMEA/CFMEA, validation, and production readiness.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, and to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with machine shop tools, processes, and equipment.
• Professional Engineer certification or ability to obtain it.
• CFD/FEA experience and familiarity with ASME Section VIII or similar pressure vessel codes.
• Knowledge of semiconductor hardware and systems.
