Supplier Quality Engineer I

Location: Illinois Remote, with the listed location in Machesney Park, Illinois, and travel of at least 50% to jobsites within North America

Starting compensation: $86,000–$97,000 per year

What you will do

• Inspect generator packages with team assistance and supporting documentation.
• Evaluate nonconformance data in the quality management system.
• Initiate and validate supplier corrective action requests for severe and recurring nonconformances.
• Support first article inspections and supplier qualification audits by collecting documentation and recording Gemba observations.
• Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, verify specifications with measurement tools, and perform risk assessments.
• Coordinate with the team on continuous improvement goals while managing changing priorities and multiple projects.

Requirements

• Previous experience in quality engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
• General knowledge of mechanical and electrical product designs and concepts.
• Experience with data analysis and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% to various jobsites within North America.

• Certification in quality methodologies such as Six Sigma or ASQ.
