hirify.global is a European fusion company developing the hardware and infrastructure for commercial stellarator fusion power plants, with operations across Munich, Zurich, and Oxford.

What you will do

  • Own the licensing and regulatory strategy for the Alpha and Stellaris stellarator programmes.
  • Define the regulatory pathway for Alpha and lead licensing and site-feasibility work for Stellaris in Gundremmingen with RWE.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into practical plans and identify licensing risks, dependencies, milestones, and blockers.
  • Build relationships with regulators, government bodies, external partners, and technical experts, representing Proxima in regulatory discussions and policy forums.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, operations, programme leadership, and legal counsel to align technical and commercial decisions with licensing requirements.
  • Build and lead the licensing and regulatory function as the company expands across sites and jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience navigating licensing and regulatory environments for complex industrial or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working directly with regulators and government bodies and building long-term credibility and trust.
  • Ability to simplify complex requirements, reduce bureaucratic friction, and develop pragmatic regulatory strategies.
  • Strong collaboration skills across engineering, finance, operations, legal, and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent English required; German is strongly preferred.
  • Based in Munich or willing to relocate to Munich.

Nice to have

  • Experience with nuclear fission or fusion licensing.
