Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: United States - Remote

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build production ETL pipelines with PySpark, SQL, and Azure data services for healthcare sources including Epic, LIMS, PACS, and SharePoint.
• Extract, transform, validate, and troubleshoot complex healthcare datasets, including schema mismatches, transformation errors, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Create reusable integration components, healthcare-specific validation rules, technical documentation, and standardized implementation patterns.
• Support testing and production deployments while coordinating with infrastructure teams.
• Advise health system partners on data mapping, transformation approaches, architecture, and integration constraints.
• Prototype AI-powered product features and build proof-of-concept integrations with product and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or solution delivery, including data integration and ETL.
• Strong proficiency in PySpark, advanced SQL, and Excel, with experience building and maintaining monitored, production-grade data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Blob Storage, and Delta Lake.
• Experience implementing data validation frameworks and resolving data quality issues.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, plus strong client-facing communication and ownership.

Nice to have

• Experience with Epic Clarity, EHR, claims, clinical, laboratory, or imaging data and healthcare standards such as FHIR, HL7v2, DICOM, LOINC, SNOMED, and ICD-10.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare data security, dimensional modeling, lakehouse architecture, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Terraform, infrastructure as code, LIMS/PACS integrations, and JSON, XML, Parquet, or CSV formats.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor and prior forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or technical consulting work.
