Data Analytics Engineer (AI)

Location: Somerville, Massachusetts, United States, or Washington, District of Columbia, United States. Flexible hybrid work with the ability to work from home as needed and access to three offices. Remote work from eligible locations is available for up to 2 months per year.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Partner with client delivery teams and customers to translate domain knowledge into data infrastructure requirements and resolve data issues.
• Explore customer data, assess its characteristics, identify quality problems, and recommend cleaning and analysis approaches.
• Build customer-facing data products including interactive investigation platforms, data quality reports, statistical analyses, and visualizations.
• Integrate AI capabilities such as automated insights, anomaly detection, AI-assisted data quality checks, and natural-language interfaces.
• Design, own, and improve ETL/ELT pipelines, including AI-assisted workflows, automated tests, and targeted manual reviews.
• Evaluate AI/ML output reliability and document assumptions, decisions, and human-in-the-loop validation processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a data-driven role or equivalent data-related research experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or another data-driven field.
• Competence in Python, R, or an equivalent programming language.
• Competence in at least two areas: databases such as SQL or PostgreSQL; data science libraries such as NumPy or pandas; pipeline tools such as Dagster, Airflow, or dbt; or cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly, decompose operational workflows, and produce trusted, high-quality datasets.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work collaboratively across engineering, data, client delivery, and customer teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI tools such as AWS Bedrock or LangChain.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest.
