Data Analytics Engineer (AI)

Location: Somerville, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid work with flexibility to work from home as needed and access to three offices; remote work from eligible locations is available for up to two months per year.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Partner with customers and client delivery teams to translate domain knowledge into data infrastructure requirements and resolve data issues.
• Explore and characterize customer data, identify cleaning needs, and support statistical analysis.
• Build AI-powered data products, including interactive investigation platforms, data quality reports, visualizations, automated insights, anomaly detection, and natural-language interfaces.
• Design, maintain, and oversee the quality and reliability of ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Evaluate AI/ML outputs and design human-in-the-loop checks to maintain trustworthy results.
• Improve tools for data cleaning, modeling, analytics, quality assessment, automation, and AI enhancement.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a data-driven role or equivalent data-related research experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or another data-driven field.
• Competence in Python, R, or an equivalent programming language.
• Competence in at least two areas: database technologies, data science libraries, data pipeline workflows, or cloud providers and their SDKs.
• Ability to translate complex data findings and operational workflows into clear, repeatable narratives and steps.
• Strong focus on data integrity, quality control, communication, self-directed learning, and collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI tools such as AWS Bedrock or LangChain.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest.
