Staff Mechatronics Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity and bonus

What you will do

• Lead system-level design and architecture for robotic and manufacturing automation solutions.
• Own complex mechatronic subsystems across mechanical, electrical, and controls domains.
• Define requirements, conduct trade studies, lead design reviews, and identify technical risks.
• Collaborate with software, controls, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver robust systems.
• Support customer-facing technical discussions and solution validation.
• Mentor engineers and influence long-term product and platform roadmap decisions.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in mechatronics, robotics, or automation engineering.
• Strong experience with industrial robotics, automation systems, or complex machinery.
• Ownership of system-level designs through deployment.
• Deep understanding of electromechanical systems and controls integration.
• Experience leading technical projects or acting as a technical lead.
• Ability to make architecture-level decisions in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Experience designing robotic cells in manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial safety systems.
• Experience mentoring or technically leading teams.
• Customer-facing engineering or field deployment experience.
