Operations Engineer (Automation)

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Develop and deploy internal automation systems for engineering, manufacturing, and operations workflows.
• Architect operational data pipelines, dashboards, and scalable systems for real-time program visibility.
• Formalize critical workflows with measurable inputs, outputs, controls, and performance metrics.
• Build program execution tooling for tracking, dependency mapping, risk monitoring, and cross-team coordination.
• Integrate PLM, ERP, MES, and other cross-functional data sources into a unified operational backbone.
• Partner with department leaders to implement software, infrastructure, and execution processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
• 1–3+ years of experience in a fast-paced engineering or consulting environment.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining automation with Python, SQL, APIs, or similar tools.
• Ability to reason across electrical, mechanical, and software boundaries and understand engineering and manufacturing data structures.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional outcomes without formal authority.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; the role may involve access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information and may require export-control authorization without sponsorship for an export license.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, UAS, robotics, automotive, or complex hardware manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ITAR/EAR, AS9100, ISO9001, and government program requirements.
• Experience with ERP, MES, PLM, manufacturing scale-up, or production environments.
• Understanding of product lifecycle stages from R&D through EVT/DVT/PVT and production.
• Startup or high-growth technical organization experience.
