Director, Powertrain (Automotive)

What you will do

• Lead the powertrain development department and deliver development targets, milestones, timelines, budgets, and project deliverables.
• Manage suppliers, including sourcing, technical steering, monitoring, issue resolution, escalation, and alternative solutions.
• Direct powertrain function and software development, calibration, application, hardware integration, and system validation.
• Coordinate electric machines, batteries, inverters, DC/DC converters, chargers, powertrain safety concepts, and safety functions.
• Lead charging development and strategy, manufacturing handshakes, diagnosis concepts, EMC measures, releases, vehicle planning, and homologation support.
• Report to the VP and other executives while managing risks, fallback solutions, recruiting, organization, international synchronization, and cost targets.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the automotive industry or with automotive suppliers.
• Master’s or PhD degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience with powertrain development, system knowledge, and vehicle-level integration.
• Ability to negotiate, manage a business unit, organize work independently, and find alternative solutions.
• Ability to manage powertrain hardware, software, safety, calibration, integration, and validation activities.
