Sr. Staff Electrical Engineer, Vehicle Architecture (EV)

Salary: $250,000–$280,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Drive the electrical architecture of micro-mobility platforms, including power distribution, energy storage, compute, sensors, lighting, safety systems, and connectivity.
• Establish vehicle block diagrams, interfaces, and design standards that support modularity and reuse across vehicle lines.
• Evaluate performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory trade-offs in system design.
• Provide technical direction to systems, electrical, firmware, and cable harness teams, and lead architecture reviews.
• Integrate electrical systems with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing engineering from concept through production.
• Evaluate emerging components and technologies, benchmark competitors, and align future architecture roadmaps with product and market requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of electrical system design experience in micro-mobility, automotive, robotics, or a related industry.
• Experience architecting complex electrical systems from concept to production, including low-voltage (<60V) and high-voltage (<1kV) systems.
• Deep understanding of actuation systems, battery management, charging systems, and energy storage technologies, including UL 2272.
• Knowledge of functional safety and compliance standards, including UL 2271, ISO 4210, ISO 26262, FCC Part 15, and EMC/EMI requirements.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet, LIN, BLE, LTE/eRedCap, system modeling, simulation, and requirements management tools.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, plus strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
