Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical jigs and fixtures for wearable and robotic devices.
• Support DFM/DFA reviews and help scale products from low-volume prototypes to high-volume production.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers on prototyping, tooling, and production readiness.
• Document manufacturing design reviews, process maps, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
• Analyze time, motion, and manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
• Support the production build team and help meet manufacturing milestones in a role split between engineering and production support.

Requirements

• Prior mechanical or manufacturing engineering experience, including internships or project work.
• Strong CAD skills; Onshape or SolidWorks preferred.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and machining.
• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and interest in scaling prototypes to production.
• Hands-on problem-solving skills, ability to iterate quickly, and strong collaboration skills.
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or an equivalent field.

Nice to have

• Experience with consumer hardware, robotics, or compact devices.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
