Ground Software Engineer (Space Systems)

What you will do

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver ground software and mission control systems, including operator GUIs and automation tools.
• Build operational automation, command-and-control, mission-planning, and mission-data-processing capabilities.
• Develop continuous integration and testing systems for reliable software deployments.
• Support end-to-end spacecraft testing and integrate ground software with satellites, ground stations, and network infrastructure.
• Implement real-time telemetry acquisition, processing, visualization, and mission data distribution systems.
• Manage mission databases and develop payload data processing applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with spacecraft, ground station, or other communication system operations.
• 2+ years of software development experience across backend, frontend, and database management.
• Demonstrated experience with Python for backend services, scripting, and data processing.
• Experience with Vue or React for responsive user interfaces.
• Experience with networking protocols such as UDP and TCP. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with time-series databases, Grafana dashboards, and data visualization.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, version control, and database management.
• Knowledge of satellite communication protocols such as CCSDS.
