Staff Software Engineer (Java/Python/React)

Location: New York, New York, United States; onsite

Total compensation: $325,000–$500,000 per year, including base salary, annual bonus incentive, and new hire equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable full-stack applications powering the identity platform.
• Own projects end to end, from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, and operational support.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations to turn business problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Shape technical direction, architectural decisions, engineering practices, and platform scalability across teams.
• Improve the security, maintainability, and operational reliability of the platform while reducing technical debt.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical collaboration, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 9+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience building production applications.
• Experience with Java, Python, React, and/or TypeScript.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture.
• Experience operating cloud-native applications with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• History of owning complex cross-functional projects from idea through production.
• Strong communication, collaboration, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
