Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Space)

hirify.global develops on-orbit servicing solutions for the secure and sustainable use of space, including satellite life extension, space situational awareness, end-of-life services, and active debris removal.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for mission-critical ground segment applications.
• Architect and build dynamic, responsive frontend interfaces using modern technologies.
• Design, manage, and optimise databases for performance, reliability, and data integrity.
• Build and manage containerised applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot issues across the full stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead or participate in SCRUM ceremonies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience for mission-critical applications in the space domain or an adjacent industry such as defence, aviation, telecommunications, or automotive.
• 5+ years of full-stack development and object-oriented programming experience, preferably with Java, Python, or C++.
• 5+ years of frontend application development experience with modern frameworks, preferably React.
• Experience with SQL databases, Git, Agile/SCRUM, container orchestration, and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Must be able to gain or already hold UK Security Clearance at least to SC level.

Nice to have

• Experience with CCSDS standards, ECSS data communications protocols, or SCOS-2000/XTCE schema formats.
• Experience with ground segment systems and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of software security best practices.
