Full Stack Software Engineer (Space)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for mission-critical ground segment applications.
• Architect and build dynamic, responsive user interfaces using modern frontend technologies.
• Design, manage, and optimize databases for performance, reliability, and data integrity.
• Build and operate containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver software features.
• Troubleshoot issues across the full stack and participate in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience developing mission-critical software in the space sector or adjacent industries such as defence, aviation, telecommunications, or automotive.
• At least 2 years of full-stack development and object-oriented programming experience, preferably with Java, Python, or C++.
• At least 2 years of frontend application development experience with modern frameworks, preferably React.
• Experience with container orchestration, CI/CD, SQL databases, Git, and Agile/SCRUM practices.
• Candidates must already hold or be able to gain UK Security Clearance to at least SC level.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CCSDS standards, ECSS data communications protocols, SCOS-2000, or XTCE schema formats.
• Experience working with ground segment systems and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of software security best practices.
