Senior Software Engineer (AI/Backend)

Location: On-site five days a week at the Flatiron District office in Manhattan, NYC, NY

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services for workflow execution and orchestration.
• Develop reusable workflow components and APIs used across the product.
• Build reliable, event-driven systems for coordinating long-running business processes.
• Partner with Product and Design to deliver intuitive workflow experiences.
• Define engineering best practices for scalability, reliability, and observability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development skills in Go, Python, Java, or a similar language.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
• Ability to work on-site five days a week from the Manhattan office.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal, Cadence, Camunda, Argo, Airflow, or Dagster.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, Kafka, or Redis.
• Experience with AI/LLM applications, agentic systems, enterprise automation, or integration platforms.
