Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or New York City

Salary: $210,000–$270,000 USD annually, depending on experience, plus equity, benefits, and an annual performance-based bonus of up to 30%.

What you will do

• Set team objectives and priorities while considering long-term product strategy and roadmap needs.
• Participate in product ideation, discovery, development, and refinement from the outset.
• Analyze complex problems and design scalable software solutions and architectures.
• Build, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality microservices and distributed systems.
• Deliver production-ready code, thorough documentation, and smooth deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and other functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 7 years of professional software development experience shipping production code.
• Fluent in one or more backend languages, such as Python, Node.js, Java, or C/C++.
• Experience building, testing, and deploying microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Next.js or React.
• Interest or experience with modern generative AI technologies and proprietary or open-source large language models.
• Performance optimization experience.
• Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes.
