Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist (Robotics)

Location: On-site at the manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, New York, United States

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Manage daily import and export operations with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
• Prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and export control documentation.
• Oversee customs entries and clearance, resolving holds, delays, and discrepancies with brokers and CBP.
• Own HTS classification for imported components and finished goods, and maintain classification records.
• Monitor tariff changes, Section 301 actions, and trade policy developments while identifying duty mitigation opportunities.
• Optimize freight performance and spend, track inbound shipments, and coordinate logistics planning with supply chain and operations.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in import/export logistics, trade compliance, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with customs entries and HTS classification for manufactured goods, preferably mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical components.
• Working knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and CBP, BIS, OFAC, and EAR frameworks.
• Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, identify compliance issues, and document processes thoroughly.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, engineering, and legal teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ITAR or EAR export control compliance for hardware or technology products.
• Background in manufacturing, robotics, or industrial hardware.
• Familiarity with free trade zones, bonded warehouses, first sale valuation, or tariff exclusion programs.
• Experience with trade compliance software or customs management systems.
• Customs Broker License or Certified Customs Specialist designation.
