Technical Sourcing Manager (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Boston office in Charlestown, Massachusetts; minimum 3 days per week in the office, with additional days as project demands require.

Salary: $128,000–$143,000 per year in Massachusetts.

What you will do

• Source components and propose part solutions for engineering challenges involving sensors, actuators, motion systems, testing tools, passive components, and custom-fabricated parts.
• Research unfamiliar product categories, identify long-lead-time items, create purchasing timelines, manage purchase orders, and resolve supply-chain issues across concurrent projects.
• Manage vendor relationships from initial contact through ongoing account management, including vendor screening, onboarding, negotiations, demos, and alternative supplier selection.
• Manage NSF and UL compliance activities for kitchen automation products, including BOM documentation, product listings, testing, and required vendor documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, legal, procurement, accounting, and vendors while helping refine procurement processes and tooling.
• Gather component requirements, evaluate trade-offs, interpret technical documentation, and organize datasheets and product specifications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience sourcing and procuring parts for industrial hardware or automation products.
• Ability to interpret complex datasheets and engineering specifications covering pressure, flow rate, voltage, current, torque, force, temperature, precision, and error tolerance.
• Ability to independently research and evaluate unfamiliar product categories and vendor landscapes.
• Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing effectively, and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to synthesize technical information for a team.
• Ability to work from the Boston office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• BS in engineering, supply chain, or a related technical field; equivalent technical procurement experience may substitute.
• Experience with UL or other NRTL-listed products.
• Experience sourcing components subject to NSF 51, FDA 21 CFR, or 3-A Sanitary Standards.
