Business Systems Analyst, Payroll Systems (Workday)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; hybrid with onsite attendance required at least 60% of the working month, approximately 3 days per week. Relocation support is available for employees moving to the Bay Area.

Salary: $124,000–$186,000 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Lead payroll systems and business technology projects by managing timelines, milestones, dependencies, RACI matrices, risks, and project documentation.
• Gather, analyze, document, and prioritize requirements from Payroll, Finance, and Total Rewards stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into Workday configuration options, technical specifications, customizations, and enhancements.
• Coordinate solution development, testing, deployment, and validation with IT and business teams.
• Manage demand and project plans while communicating progress and resolving blockers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Recommend enhancements based on new Workday features and ecosystem trends.

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll applications design and implementation experience in a rapidly scaling organization.
• 5+ years of experience with Workday configuration, business process customization, report writing, and integrations using Workday tools.
• Strong knowledge of Workday Payroll, Absence Management, and Time Tracking, including configuration, processing, accruals, approvals, and payroll integrations.
• Ability to simplify complex business requests into actionable projects and navigate ambiguity and delivery challenges.
• Strong stakeholder communication, data analysis, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and enterprise data security and compliance.

• Consulting experience.
• Workday Adaptive Planning integration experience, including data loader and publishing plans.
