TL;DR

Payroll Business Analyst: Supporting accurate and compliant payroll operations by analyzing data, resolving discrepancies, and driving process improvements. Location: Must be based in the US (Hybrid model in Folsom, CA or Phoenix, AZ). No relocation assistance or immigration sponsorship provided.

Salary: $52,000–$200,000

What you will do

  • Analyze payroll data and variable compensation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and IT to resolve payroll issues and streamline processes.
  • Create detailed test plans and execute system testing for payroll initiatives.
  • Drive business analysis activities including requirements gathering and process mapping.
  • Prepare clear documentation and reports to support audit readiness and stakeholder communication.
  • Identify root causes of data inconsistencies and partner with IT for long-term resolutions.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in US Payroll and Payroll Accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including complex formulas and macros.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and audit readiness.
  • Experience with payroll automation or system implementations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Workday and ADP payroll systems.
  • Background in LATAM Payroll or HR Operations.
  • Relevant certifications in payroll, process improvement, or data analytics.
