Payroll Business Analyst (US Payroll)

Location: Hybrid work model with on-site work at assigned hirify.global sites in Folsom, California or Phoenix, Arizona, United States

Annual salary: $52,000–$200,000

What you will do

• Analyze payroll data, variable compensation, and related transactions for accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
• Identify payroll data issues and root causes, and coordinate resolutions with IT and business partners.
• Streamline payroll processes, improve controls and data quality, and eliminate redundant work.
• Support system testing by creating test plans, executing tests, documenting results, and validating outcomes.
• Drive business analysis activities, including requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, and user stories.
• Prepare reporting and documentation for audits, stakeholder communication, and operational decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, human resources, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in US payroll and payroll accounting.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes, compliance requirements, data accuracy controls, and audit readiness.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, pivot tables, and macros.
• Experience with payroll systems, automation, process improvement, system implementations, or operational transformation.
• This position is not eligible for hirify.global immigration sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workday and ADP payroll systems.
• Experience preparing audit, controls review, or stakeholder governance documentation.
• Experience in LATAM payroll, finance, HR operations, or a related operational function.
• Payroll, process improvement, or data analytics certification.
